California 10-2010

We had the great opportunity to go to California and stay in a beach house for a little over a week. We had a BLAST! Bryan's parents rented a beach house that was just ONE block from the beach. It was so great to get out of the heat and relax for a week in cool, beautiful weather. The first few days we were there it was rainy but so beautiful. You could see the beach from our rooftop deck. It was nice to just sit around and relax and enjoy the company of family. Bryan's parents were there, his brother Andy and his girlfriend Vanessa came and his cousin Randal came also. It was fun playing games and just getting to know each other better.
Bethanie had a hard time sleeping during the night (what's new?) so I was tired but it was nice getting to relax. Bethanie and I took a stroll on the beach one morning when we were the only ones awake...it was beautiful. Bethanie loves people watching so she had a great time. Towards the end of the week the weather cleared up and it was PERFECT beach weather. Bethanie got to go to the beach for the first time and LOVED it. She got to swing in a swing and go down a slide for her first time as well and loved all of her new adventures. As you can see from the pictures she enjoyed walking in the water and eating things that probably should not have gone in her mouth (seaweed and sand). She was so much fun to watch as she enjoyed it all. Bryan got to boogie board and had tons of fun doing that as well.
Overall it was a great week! OH YEAH...Bryan and I snuck away and left Bethanie with the grandparents one day and went and got pedicures and massages. It was WONDERFUL!

Walking

Bethanie has started walking...she's still getting used to it and still prefers crawling but she sure can do it. Yesterday she almost made it all the way across the living room! I'm so proud of her! :) I can't believe she's almost 11 months! Time flies! We are enjoying every minute of our cutie!

We tried getting videos of her walking but Bryan's phone kept freezing up so this is the only one we got so far...don't worry...I will definitely be trying to get more.

Teeth and Steps!

Well, yesterday was a big day for our little Miss Bethanie! Her 1st tooth FINALLY poked through the gums. Although the doctor told us it was impossible for her to get any teeth besides the bottom 2 first we proved him wrong! Her right vampire tooth is the 1st tooth to poke through. Her left vampire tooth is going to be second I am sure because it's getting close. Still no evidence of the bottom 2. In your face stupid doctor! Haha! :) I believe Bethanie has joined Team Edward and is becoming a vampire. EEK!

Another amazing thing that happened yesterday...Bethanie took her first independent steps! She was standing up next to our side table in the living room trying to get the remote and my cell phone off of it...so I decided I would take them and hold them up for her to get them instead...she got so excited, she forgot that she wasn't holding onto the table anymore and walked 3 steps towards me to get the phone!! I was so excited!!! Well Bryan of course was jealous that he missed out so later on we tried it again and she walked another 2 steps. She is definitely not confident with walking but we are well on our way! :) So exciting!! I am hoping she will be walking confidently by her birthday!!

Camping 9-2010

So we got a new pop up camper and thought we'd try it out. We went camping with some of Bryan's coworkers and had a lot of fun. We were going to take Bethanie but she was not feeling well and we did not want another miserable camping trip like last time so she got to stay with her grandparents. We camped out by Woods Canyon Lake and had the best view from our campsite. We have decided that we will never go back to tent camping...camping in a pop up camper is SO much better. :) Lots of fun shooting and riding in Chris's Rhino. :) Can't wait to go camping again.

10 Months!

I can't believe Bethanie is 10 months already...only 2 more months until she's ONE! Wow! Time sure does fly! Bethanie is becoming more and more fun as time goes on...she is definitely a trouble maker though. :) She gets into EVERYTHING and loves to climb. She gets up onto the couch and climbs out onto the side table...scary!

Just recently Bethanie has started copying me. When I say "no no no no no" when she's going towards something she's not supposed to get into, she smiles at me and repeats "na na na na na." Silly girl!

She's getting so big and acts so grown up sometimes. She's SO close to walking. She can walk with us holding onto just one hand.

We love our happy little girl...even if she still doesn't sleep. ;)
