Christmas Tree Adventure

Well, this year we got to do something totally awesome! We got to go and cut down our own Christmas tree! Seems like an easy thing to do right? Well, it was not as easy as I thought it would be. I thought we would just get there and find the perfect tree right off...but nope. :) The day started early, we were almost to I-10 when we realized that we forgot our tree permit...so we had to turn around and go back home to pick that up. I-10 is probably 15 miles from our house...so that was not the best start to the day.

Then, we went and met Bryan's dad (Glen) because he was coming with us. We were finally off...

We towed the Jeep up there because we knew there was lots of snow and our truck is not 4 wheel drive.

We had originally planned to go up to Woods Canyon Lake area where we usually camp to get the tree...but that area was closed due to too much snow. We were bummed...so we went to the next open section. We drove around and around, not finding many pine trees. All of the pine trees we were finding were more like a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree...so we kept driving around and around, not having any luck.

We decided that we would turn around and go back out the other direction to see if we could see anything on the way back...well something happened (still nobody knows what happened)...and we almost died!! Haha! Yes, I will be over dramatic to make my point. :) We must have hit a small patch of ice or something because we slid and the Jeep spun around...I wish we would have had a camera set up in the Jeep because the look on everyone's faces were priceless...I pretty much thought we were going to die. LOL! We all thought we were going to flip...but luckily, we just spun around and ended up backed into the snow. Thank goodness there were no trees right there or else we would have had some damage.

WE ALL SURVIVED! :)

So, on with our adventure...we decided that we were not finding anything good so we would break for lunch. We drove to Heber and Bryan went in and talked with the people at the Ranger's station...they gave him a new map with a section that they had just opened up and said there were good trees out there.

So, we went to lunch and relaxed for a little bit before we had to cram back into the Jeep.

And then we were off again to find the perfect tree...

We drove in and were not seeing much of anything and were getting pretty frustrated, when Bryan, Glen and I all spotted 3 different trees all within a small section...there were 2 on our right and one on our left...YAY!!! We finally found some decent pine trees. So, should we continue looking? Nope, we have found our spot. We got out and shook off the snow and found the perfect tree for us. It may not be the most gorgeous tree, but it was nice and full and looked great to us!

Bethanie loved the snow and we all had a great day. We packed up the tree and drove back to Payson to hook back up to the truck and head home. We were all exhausted but we were so thrilled to have our tree! :) Such a fun adventure! Not many people can say that they cut down their own tree. :)

1st Day of Preschool!

Yep, it's true...Bethanie has started Preschool. She could not start until she turned two, so today was her first day. Her school is called Bright Minds Preschool and there are 7 kids in her class. Her teacher's name is Ms. Joanne and she's very sweet and energetic (I guess you'd have to be to take care of 7 two year olds). I was very nervous this morning when getting ready to take Bethanie to her first day because she was really clingy all morning...but as soon as we walked in the door she was so excited. She loved her backpack and loved the atmosphere there. We went into her classroom and she went right over and sat down at the little table and started playing with the play dough...she was so excited that she didn't even see me leave. She had such a great day. The teacher said she is a doll and a joy to have in the class. :) So proud of my little preschooler! :)

New Tricycle :)

Bethanie got a new tricycle for her birthday. When she goes to the park, all of the kids there ride scooters and bikes and she just stands back and watches in awe, so we decided that she needed something to keep up with the big kids. She got SO excited when she opened up the box and saw a bike in the picture. She was so eager to ride it and waited patiently while Daddy put it together. She got on and wanted to just ride away...but she does not quite get the pedaling concept yet. But, she's working on it. :) She loves her bike so much that she even sits on it to watch TV in her room.

I was trying to teach her how to pedal and would tell her "Just push your feet." She then leaned over and pushed on her feet with her hands. Haha. Kids take things so literally. :) Love that kid!!

Bethanie's Birthday Party

Well, Bethanie is now TWO! Holy moley! Where have the past 2 years gone? We had planned to take her to Out of Africa Wildlife Park but then we found out it was going to rain, so we moved the party to my parents house. We BBQ'd and just hung out. It was lots of fun. Bethanie would not eat her hot dog, but found a lemon and ate that instead...yes, that is weird! LOL! She enjoyed her party and got spoiled like usual. :) She was not thrilled with the Happy Birthday song...she sat there with a very serious face, but was fine once the song was over. :) So blessed to have this adorable 2 year old in our lives! :) Enjoy the pictures.

Halloween 2011

Bethanie had so much fun this Halloween. She got to dress up like Minnie Mouse and got to knock on doors to get candy. She had a great time and has already mastered the "Full Hand Grab." She was the cutest Minnie Mouse I've ever seen :) Enjoy the pictures

20 Months

I cannot believe how fast Bethanie is growing up. She is almost 21 months old which means...she's almost 2!!!!! Where has the time gone? Bethanie is so much fun and SO smart! She is such a joy to have around and she always has us laughing. Here are just a few new things that Bethanie does or says:

Bethanie likes to hide things behind her back...she will hide something and wait for you to ask her where it is and then she will pull it out and say, "Here it is!" SO CUTE!

Bethanie is so smart and knows most of her body parts. Here's the list: Hair, Head, Eyes, Nose, Mouth, Ears, Cheeks (she pinches her cheeks when you tell her she's cute), Chin (this one is a new one), Neck, Boobies (yep, that's right), Belly Button, Shoulders, Elbows (another new one), Fingers, Hands, Knees, Toes, Feet and TUSH :)

Bethanie's favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and has most of the characters and LOVES them more than any of her other toys. Her favorites are Donald and Daisy Duck. She calls them Don Duck and Day Duck...she can also say Minnie (MeeMee). Another favorite character is Pete, but they don't make stuffed animals of him because he's the villain I guess you could say.

She loves the Hot Dog Dance from Mickey Mouse and will go around the house singing and doing the dance "Dot Dog, Dot Dog." SO CUTE!
She has also learned how to tiptoe and skate from watching Mickey Mouse. :)

Bethanie's new thing to get your attention is saying very loudly, "Hey Hey Hey." She chases me around the house saying "Hey Hey Hey" if I do not answer her right away...AND the other day in the store she tried saying hi to someone who did not respond and so she started yelling out "Hey Hey Hey" and the lady turned around and then said hi to her. Haha! Kind of embarrassing but so funny.

Bethanie's other favorite word right now is "No." Her answer to EVERYTHING is "No" even if she means yes. I have had to figure out which no means yes and which no means no. LOL! She says "No" very sweetly...she tilts her head to the side and says it in such a sweet voice. So cute!!

There are new things that she does daily that I need to be better at keeping track of because they are just so dang cute!

One thing that Bethanie has down perfectly is "The Look." There is a look that I give her when she is in trouble or doing something that she's not supposed to be doing and she has learned it and will give ME the look before I can even give it to her. It's hilarious!

Finger Painting

I've been wanting to give Bethanie something fun to do like finger painting for a while now but I was nervous...I didn't want a HUGE mess to clean up...but it was FUN! She painted 3 picture frames while sitting on my lap and didn't make a big mess at all. But then...I realized we needed to take pictures of her and we had already wiped her down, so we put her up on the table and just let her go. :) She had fun painting her body and luckily it washed off pretty easy. She had fun and her frames turned out amazing :) So fun!

18 Months

It's been a while since I've blogged, so I figured I better post about Bethanie at 18 months! I cannot believe she's already 18 months. Bryan has been telling people for months that Bethanie is a year and a half and I would correct him with the number of months...but now it's TRUE! She's getting so big and SO smart! She's such a joy to have around...maybe not so much in the middle of the night because she still doesn't sleep through the night...but the days are great with her :)

She is so smart when it comes to Animals...she knows what a lot of animals say. If you ask her what a certain animal is, instead of saying the name of the animal she will tell you what that animal says:

Another fun thing that we do is name and point to body parts. She knows where her eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hair, head, shoulders, feet, toes, fingers, hands, belly button, "boobies", and her TUSH are. I tried asking her where her butt was one day but she got that confused with belly button, so I taught her tush instead. Hehe. :) When you ask where her fingers are she will wiggle her fingers...and when you ask about her hands she will hold up her fists. SO SMART!

Bethanie's favorite show to watch is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It's a cute show and she gets so into it. Her favorite part is singing to and dancing to the "Hot Dog" dance at the end of the show. "Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog." She jams out to it and will sing "Dot Dog"...sometimes I even hear her throw in "Diggity." So fun to watch her dance :)

Bethanie, Multi-tasking Mama

I bought Bethanie a stroller for her baby on Saturday and after I put it together we got out her Twin dolls. I put one in the stroller but she didn't want to leave the other one out so she carried her around in the baby pack. Haha. She had so much fun pushing the baby around and she just looks SO cute as a little Mama. :) Love this little girl!! She would even lift up the umbrella thing on the stroller to lean in and kiss her baby. :)

16 Months

Bethanie sure is growing up fast! We went to the doctor yesterday because she hadn't been feeling well and found out she had Roseola...but she's doing much better today.
At the doc of course I asked them to weigh her and measure her height because I know she's grown but didn't know how much.

Height: 33 1/4 inches - ABOVE 95%
Weight: 28 pounds - Between 90-95%

She still seems so small to us but I'm sure if we compared her to the babies her age, we'd be shocked :)

Bethanie is so much fun and such a social butterfly lately. Her favorite word is "HI." She says "Hi" and waves to everyone and everything around her...if she hears someone on TV say "Hi" she will say it right back. She says it to cars driving by, bike riders, dogs, dolls, EVERYONE. She said "Hi" to one of the nurses at the doctor's office yesterday and was shocked when everyone in the office said "Hi" back. Haha. She's so funny!

We sure are enjoying her the older she gets...but we could definitely do without the tantrums she's started...and she still doesn't sleep through the night, so that gets old too...but it's hard to stay upset with her because she's so dang cute!

Bethanie is almost 15 months old so I figure I better blog and post some updated pictures before she gets any older :) She's growing so much and learns new things everyday.

Just off the top of my head, here are some of the words she can say:

Mama (she rarely ever says this one...the only time I hear it is when she's crying)
Baby (bab-ee...the ee sound is always high pitched)

Our New Little Puppy...

So our little trouble maker has been very busy lately. On January 4th I was sitting in the den working when I heard the dog door opening and closing...so I figured Bethanie was just playing with it. Well, when I got out to the dog door Bethanie was not there...I looked around...where was she? OUTSIDE of the dog door. She had crawled through and was playing with it from the outside. Not an ideal situation since the outside of the dog door is a little dangerous. Anyway...I now have to keep it closed when I hear her playing with it. BUT...before I made it off limits completely I of course had to get some pictures. :) ENJOY!

13 Months

Bethanie is now 13 1/2 months and is becoming more and more fun everyday. Just thought I'd share a few fun things that she does that shows her little personality.

*RARR ~ I taught Bethanie that a bear says Rarr by showing her one of her stuffed bears...so now she thinks that every animal should say Rarr. She growls at everything but keeps her little lips closed so it sounds more like Brrr...but it's ADORABLE!

*RANDOM DANCING ~ Bethanie LOVES to dance...whether there is music or not. She just breaks out into random dancing...she adds new moves everyday. She swings her hips back and forth and there is even a little move that she does with her right arm...she brings it up and down like a chicken. It looks like she's doing the chicken dance. So fun!

*WHERE'S YOUR... ~ I have been teaching Bethanie her body parts and she can now show me where her ears, belly button and mouth are. When you ask "Where's your mouth?" She sticks her tongue out and makes a noise. When you ask about her belly button she lifts her shirt up. So smart!!

*SLEEP ~ Starting on December 11th, Bethanie finally started sleeping through the night!!! HALLELUJAH!! :)

*FOLDING ARMS ~ Just yesterday Bethanie started folding her arms and rolling them round and round...when she puts her arms into the folded position she does it with such pazzazz and it looks like it could be one of her new dance moves

*TALKING ~ She LOVES to talk...she walks around talking and talking non-stop all the time. Some of the things that we've heard her "say" are "here you go" and "baby"...there are other things that she says too but I put "say" in quotations because sometimes it is clearer than others but sometimes we might just make it up. Haha.

*BATH TIME ~ Bethanie LOVES her baths. Lately she plays this game where she will stand up and when I tell her to sit down she will squat until her bum hits the water and will wait until I look away and she will pop back up and giggle. Such a trickster!

*PHONE ~ This is my favorite one...she has started talking on the phone...her "HAND PHONE." Whenever she hears someone say hi or hello she will put her hand up to her ear and say "Hello?!" She now talks on just about anything she can get her hands on and if she doesn't have anything in her hand...she just uses her hand. :) SO FUN!!

Bethanie's 1st Birthday party

Well, we had Bethanie's 1st birthday party on Saturday, November 6th. The theme was "A Train Ride Through the Jungle." Bethanie's Grandpa Glen has been working on his train track in their backyard for over 20 years and finished it just in time for Bethanie's party. The train goes all the way around the backyard and is just amazing. We put animals by the track so that it was like a train ride through the jungle.
The party turned out well...it was a nice party with family. Bethanie decided to wake up nice and early that morning so she was exhausted but still did really well through the party. We had burgers and hot dogs cooked by the grill master, Bryan. :) Bethanie got lots of nice presents and enjoyed opening them (or playing with the wrapping paper). MaKenna (my cousin Chelsey's 2 year old daughter) helped open some of the gifts and also got to enjoy the train ride with her Daddy.
We had a monkey pinata that seemed to be indestructible...a bunch of strong men hit it HARD and it refused to break. When it finally broke, only a hold was made and all of the candy inside was melted. Haha. It was a good time.

We bought Bethanie a Halloween costume but I could not wait til Halloween to have a photo shoot. Besides, I doubt she would let us put that costume back on her anyway...she was not thrilled about it because it was slippery to walk and a little big.
Anyway...here is our photo shoot of our little MONKEY! I figured a monkey costume was perfect for her because that is what she is...she gets into everything and climbs on everything else. LOL.

California 10-2010

We had the great opportunity to go to California and stay in a beach house for a little over a week. We had a BLAST! Bryan's parents rented a beach house that was just ONE block from the beach. It was so great to get out of the heat and relax for a week in cool, beautiful weather. The first few days we were there it was rainy but so beautiful. You could see the beach from our rooftop deck. It was nice to just sit around and relax and enjoy the company of family. Bryan's parents were there, his brother Andy and his girlfriend Vanessa came and his cousin Randal came also. It was fun playing games and just getting to know each other better.
Bethanie had a hard time sleeping during the night (what's new?) so I was tired but it was nice getting to relax. Bethanie and I took a stroll on the beach one morning when we were the only ones awake...it was beautiful. Bethanie loves people watching so she had a great time. Towards the end of the week the weather cleared up and it was PERFECT beach weather. Bethanie got to go to the beach for the first time and LOVED it. She got to swing in a swing and go down a slide for her first time as well and loved all of her new adventures. As you can see from the pictures she enjoyed walking in the water and eating things that probably should not have gone in her mouth (seaweed and sand). She was so much fun to watch as she enjoyed it all. Bryan got to boogie board and had tons of fun doing that as well.
Overall it was a great week! OH YEAH...Bryan and I snuck away and left Bethanie with the grandparents one day and went and got pedicures and massages. It was WONDERFUL!

Walking

Bethanie has started walking...she's still getting used to it and still prefers crawling but she sure can do it. Yesterday she almost made it all the way across the living room! I'm so proud of her! :) I can't believe she's almost 11 months! Time flies! We are enjoying every minute of our cutie!

We tried getting videos of her walking but Bryan's phone kept freezing up so this is the only one we got so far...don't worry...I will definitely be trying to get more.

Teeth and Steps!

Well, yesterday was a big day for our little Miss Bethanie! Her 1st tooth FINALLY poked through the gums. Although the doctor told us it was impossible for her to get any teeth besides the bottom 2 first we proved him wrong! Her right vampire tooth is the 1st tooth to poke through. Her left vampire tooth is going to be second I am sure because it's getting close. Still no evidence of the bottom 2. In your face stupid doctor! Haha! :) I believe Bethanie has joined Team Edward and is becoming a vampire. EEK!

Another amazing thing that happened yesterday...Bethanie took her first independent steps! She was standing up next to our side table in the living room trying to get the remote and my cell phone off of it...so I decided I would take them and hold them up for her to get them instead...she got so excited, she forgot that she wasn't holding onto the table anymore and walked 3 steps towards me to get the phone!! I was so excited!!! Well Bryan of course was jealous that he missed out so later on we tried it again and she walked another 2 steps. She is definitely not confident with walking but we are well on our way! :) So exciting!! I am hoping she will be walking confidently by her birthday!!

Camping 9-2010

So we got a new pop up camper and thought we'd try it out. We went camping with some of Bryan's coworkers and had a lot of fun. We were going to take Bethanie but she was not feeling well and we did not want another miserable camping trip like last time so she got to stay with her grandparents. We camped out by Woods Canyon Lake and had the best view from our campsite. We have decided that we will never go back to tent camping...camping in a pop up camper is SO much better. :) Lots of fun shooting and riding in Chris's Rhino. :) Can't wait to go camping again.

10 Months!

I can't believe Bethanie is 10 months already...only 2 more months until she's ONE! Wow! Time sure does fly! Bethanie is becoming more and more fun as time goes on...she is definitely a trouble maker though. :) She gets into EVERYTHING and loves to climb. She gets up onto the couch and climbs out onto the side table...scary!

Just recently Bethanie has started copying me. When I say "no no no no no" when she's going towards something she's not supposed to get into, she smiles at me and repeats "na na na na na." Silly girl!

She's getting so big and acts so grown up sometimes. She's SO close to walking. She can walk with us holding onto just one hand.

We love our happy little girl...even if she still doesn't sleep. ;)

9 Month Well Check

Bethanie had her 9 month check up today and got an A+ :)
The doctor said she is PERFECT! Yep, that's right...we've got a perfect child!

Here are her stats:
Weight: 20 pounds 12 ounces - 75-90%
Head: 46 cm - 90%
Length: 30 inches - GREATER than 95%

Yep, we've got a tall one on our hands! :) Never would have guessed that we would have a tall child. Hehe.

Bethanie is doing great! She's growing up so fast. She is such a joy to have around...even in the middle of the night when she wakes me up multiple times. LOL!

Bethanie loves to get around...she is always on the move. You have to keep a close eye on her because she gets into EVERYTHING! She knows right from wrong and is rebellious already. When she knows she is heading towards something she is not supposed to get into she will turn around to see if I'm watching and then book it as fast as she can to get to whatever it is before I can catch her. She's such a goofball!

She is so talented...she can already pick things up with her thumb and index finger...according to her Aunt Sheree, that's very advanced. :)

Bethanie loves to stand up and "cruise" as they call it...that means walking along furniture. She is still timid to stand on her own or to walk on her own but she can stand up for quite a while on her own until she realizes she is not holding onto anything and then she plops back down.

We got a toy piano from our neighbor and it plays different songs when you hit the keys and today Bethanie was dancing...it was ADORABLE!!

Well, Bethanie LOVES it! When I would get to the "Bzzzzz, Ouch it stung me!" I would do the Bzzzzz into her hands and she just laughed and laughed and laughed...enjoy!

9 Months! WOW!

Bethanie is now 9 months old! Where has the time gone? She is so active and gets into EVERYTHING! She is SO close to walking...she can stand up on her own for a few seconds and then when she realizes she's not holding onto anything she panics and sits back down. She's so much fun. She's got a great personality and loves Trooper. Time flies!
She still doesn't have any teeth and still doesn't sleep through the night...but it's ok, I love her anyway! :) I can feel a "vampire tooth" coming in on the top but nothing has pushed through yet. Hopefully soon though :)

We love our beautiful 9 month old! She's our pride and joy! She is very well behaved and we get comments all the time when we are out about how quiet and content she is. She's amazing! She can be a little trouble maker though...if she's crawling towards something she's not supposed to get into like Trooper's food or into a room she's not allowed in...if you say her name, she will look back and then start crawling even faster! She KNOWS! ;) She's so fun!

Bethanie is 8 months old today! Time FLIES!! She's getting so big and she is so much fun! She loves to move...she can get pretty much anywhere. If you turn your head for even 2 seconds she is already gone.

She can now crawl a real crawl...but she prefers her Army Crawl. She starts out crawling normal but I think she just doesn't feel like it's a fast enough mode of transportation so she plops down onto her belly and goes into the army crawl. She moves FAST!

She can also pull herself up to a stand now and is always climbing. I think Trooper used to use the couch as a getaway from Bethanie because he just wants to sleep all the time but now she can even get him when he's on the couch. She loves to chase Trooper around and she follows us everywhere we go and will climb up to wherever we are sitting.

Bethanie is such a joy to have around and we love her so much!! Enjoy the pictures of her standing in her crib...she's so dang ADORABLE!!!!!!!

Camping...

Well, we decided to go camping for the 4th of July weekend. We have never been camping with a baby before...and probably never will again. ;) We went to Aspen Campground just outside of Alpine, AZ. It was beautiful there and the weather was wonderful. It was rough because Bethanie wanted attention all the time so Bryan had to set up camp pretty much on his own. Bethanie did ok when we were holding her or when she was not tired...but she would NOT nap at all and Thursday night was the worst night I've ever had with her. She would not sleep...and when she would wake up she would scream bloody murder. It was rough...Bryan and I had a really hard night. She ended up sleeping next to me on the air mattress which was rough because Bryan and I barely had enough room as it was.
The pictures below are of our HAPPY camper...but honestly she did not like camping at all.
So, Friday night she was fussy again and would not go down to sleep so Bryan (the amazing man that he is) offered to take us to a motel. It was too late to pack everything up and all go, so Bryan took Bethanie and I to a little lodge in Alpine so that we could have a better night. He stayed at the campground because all of our stuff was there and the Jeep was there so we did not feel comfortable leaving everything there without us. We missed Bryan so much sleeping in a different place than him...but Bethanie was a little happier being inside and had an ok night.
The next morning as I was watching out the window for Bryan I noticed that the street was being blocked off by the police and there was a parade going on...so Bethanie and I got to go to a parade. Bethanie got a 4th of July rubber ducky thrown to her by one of the little old ladies on one of the fire trucks. It was fun but sad not having Bryan there with us.
Once Bryan got to the lodge he showered and we headed for home. The rest of the weekend we were all exhausted but it was nice to just spend time together as a family.
I am so blessed to have Bryan and Bethanie in my life...I LOVE THEM SO VERY MUCH!!!

Since Bethanie came along I have noticed that all of my blog posts have been about her...that's typical I am sure...but I just want all of you to know that Bryan is still my EVERYTHING!!!!! Without him there wouldn't be a Bethanie...so this post is dedicated to him and the AMAZING husband and father that he is!

No matter what happens in life, I am reminded once again that family is the most important thing in the world! I have deactivated my Facebook account which is huge for me because I will admit...I was obsessed and it had taken over my life. But no matter who is dating who or what so and so is up to today...none of those things matter to me as much as my amazing little family! I had gotten lost in other peoples' lives and in other peoples' drama and lost myself in the process.

Although marriage can be rough and being a mom can be even harder...my escapes need to be with my family and not with Facebook. Taking a break to find myself again and to focus more on being a wife and mother is the most important thing I could ever do.

I know there are times when I get frustrated or have a rough day...but the thing that gets me through is my love for Bryan and Bethanie! They are my world and my everything. I could not live without them and I would never want to know what it would be like if I had to.

I may not tell Bryan often enough how amazing he is, but he truly is! I have been blessed to have the most amazing husband in the world! He does everything for me...he works so hard and deserves all of the compliments and love in the world. He is my everything and I appreciate everything he does for me and Bethanie. He's so caring and loving and the hardest worker I know. I wish I could show him more often how much I love and appreciate him! He's my world!

Although Facebook can be addicting, I am determined to change my ways...

Bethanie is growing up so fast. She's now 18 pounds 8 ounces...getting so big...but SO MUCH FUN!

We went to Olive Garden the other night and the crazy waitress put a salad plate down in front of Bethanie (not sure why)...Bethanie grabbed that plate so fast and just started chomping! Who needs salad when you've got a nice chilled glass plate to chomp on? Not her! ;)

Bethanie can now pull herself up to a sitting and kneeling position. We always used to leave the side of her crib down so that we could reach in nice and easy but that has now changed...I go into her room and there is her little head peaking up over the side bumpers in the crib...now we have to keep her trapped in there. :) Here are some pictures of her after she pulled herself up to a kneeling position...she was trying to get up to Trooper who is asleep up on the couch (his usual position).

Another milestone...she crawled a couple feet today. The past few days she's been getting up on her hands and knees and trying real hard to figure out how to move around like that. Usually she just falls down and just resorts back to her army crawl...but today she moved a couple feet before falling. She's getting SO CLOSE to the real crawl! We will see how long it takes her to make that her way of transportation. :) Or maybe she will just stick with the army crawl...we will see.

Bethanie has become so good at walking around in her walker that she has become a danger to us all. :)

She trapped Trooper in the laundry room and wouldn't let him leave. Haha!

And then she followed me around the kitchen while I swept just running into the back of my heels...OUCH! Pretty sure I'm going to have bruised heels. I couldn't move fast enough to get away from her. Haha.

Check out the video to see how fast she moves and how good she's getting at getting where she wants to go. She has trouble getting up onto the carpet but that's ok because it's our safe zone. LOL! Enjoy!

Bethanie must be tired of her toys or something because when she spotted Trooper's bone across the tile she was determined to get it. We have caught her chomping on it a couple times (gross I know)...but she really wanted it. She's not crawling yet, but she sure does have the Army Crawl down. She can get just about anywhere she wants to go. Notice the suspicious look on her face when she hears Trooper come in his dog door...and then notice Trooper's face as he turns to me after realizing that she had his bone. The look on his face says, "Um, that's my bone! Why does she get to play with my toys but I can't play with hers?"

Bethanie is 7 months old today! Time sure has flown by. I like doing photo shoots every month and since she was wearing her giraffe outfit today I thought it would be fun to have a giraffe family photo shoot. Hehe. I sure hope she learns to love giraffes because if you can't tell...I DO! :) She is becoming more and more fun as she gets older. Her personality is coming out more and more. She loves to smile and laugh.
She just learned how to say "Dada" a few days ago and so she rolls all around the living room saying "dadadadadadadada." I think it's time to learn a new word. Hehe.

6 Month Stats

Here are Bethanie's 6 month stats. We just went to the doc today and she had 5 more shots. I HATE THAT! Anyway...she was a champ and scored an A+.

Height: 27 1/4 inches (95%)
Weight: 16 pounds 14 ounces (75%)

Bethanie is becoming more and more fun and cuter and cuter as the days go by. I can't believe she's already 6 months and 10 days old. She's growing up so fast. :) She loves spending time rolling around on the floor. I lay down the biggest blanket we have so that she doesn't get carpet burn but it takes her about a second to roll off of it. She rolls so fast and ends up getting stuck up against the walls or under the piano...but she loves it.

The other day she rolled over next to the recliner where I was sitting using the laptop and she reached up and unplugged it because the cord hangs down and she thought it was a toy. She has tried doing that to her Daddy a couple times too. She thinks she's so funny!

She also loves playing with Trooper...he makes her giggle. I think they will be best friends. :)

Bethanie is an eater...she loves to eat. She has had rice cereal, carrots and banana flavored fluffs...she has also sucked on different big people foods like french fries and apple slices. I still don't think she is teething...but she sure chews on EVERYTHING she can get her hands on.
She is not crawling yet but she is getting close I think because she's got the legs down she just needs a little help figuring out the arms because right now she kind of just scoots on her face. :) But she knows how to get to what she wants by rotating herself on her stomach and then rolling towards it. She's so smart!!
She can also sit up on her own now...she is still a little wobbly but she can do it when she wants to.
At the doctor's office today the nurse told me to have her sit up on the scale instead of lay down...I warned the nurse that she was still wobbly and she told me to sit her up anyway...well as soon as the nurse let go of her to get the weight she toppled over and hit her head on the metal scale...I was very upset to say the least. She's got her first little bump on her head...but she didn't cry which I was very glad about.
Hmm...what else can she do? She's started using the letter "B"...she does not say bababa but she definitely uses the "B" while she is blabbing instead of just oooing and awing. :)

I LOVE MY LITTLE PRINCESS and am so blessed to have her in my life!! :) I don't know what I would do without her!!

Here is our most recent project...there are ALWAYS projects going on with Bryan around. He just can't hold still :) Anyway...we got a GREAT deal on a hot tub from some neighbors of ours and so we just had to take it. It's a work in progress but we are super excited. Since we got the hot tub we had to find a place to put it in our backyard. We thought about putting it in the grass, but then Bryan had a great idea to lave pave stones where we had rock before...so that has been the project the past few weeks. The first week my dad and brother came over to help prepare the ground. Then Bryan's dad came and helped lay the pave stones. This took quite a while. It looks much easier than it was.
Then, of course the HEAVY hot tub had to be moved from our neighbor's house to our house. They live down the street so Bryan decided it would be a waste to put it in the truck. So, he put it up on it's side and screwed "skates" onto it. He put wheels on it and him, his dad and 2 other neighbors wheeled it from the neighbor's house to our house. The hard part was moving it through the rocks. So, they rolled it on plywood and once they'd reach the end of one piece of wood, they would have to pick one up and move it to the front. It was a great idea and worked perfectly. My husband's a genius :)
So, we had the stones laid and the hot tub in our backyard...but still had to put the electrical in. Bryan and I ran the wires through the attic from the front of the house to the back and then Bryan's dad came down and helped to get it all installed. This was a day long project...it got done last night and then we turned it on and it WORKED!! :)
The hot tub is a work in progress...we are going to put new side paneling on it and the jets need to be replaced but it works just fine to relax in for the time being. :) We filled it up and relaxed in it last night. Bethanie LOVES swimming and just talked and talked and smiled the entire time. It was great! It will be nice to have a place to cool off with Bethanie all summer and then of course we will use the heat once winter hits...but we've still got a WHILE before that happens. :)

CARROTS!!!! MMMMMMMM!!!!!!! Well, looks like Bethanie loves carrots more than the rice cereal! She's much happier eating the carrots than the cereal. :) She's so fun! Bethanie and Trooper get along really well. Bethanie giggles whenever Trooper is around...especially when he tries to lick her face (even though I don't approve). Last night they had fun playing together...he kept scooting her toys closer to her. He sure loves her and he really wishes her toys were his. :)

Bethanie has just started sitting up on her own...she is still a little tipsy but she sure is proud when she does sit up alone. She's so dang cute!!

Last picture...a GREAT end to my 1st Mother's Day. Bethanie was so exhausted from playing that she just curled up and fell asleep on my chest. She hasn't done that in a while so it was wonderful just to cuddle with my baby. I love being a Mommy and I LOVE my little Princess. :)

I fed Bethanie rice cereal for the first time today...she's such an easy baby. She loves the taste of everything...she even takes medicine really well. Trip to Utah

Bethanie and I got to go with my family to Utah April 22-25 to go to my sister Mandy's graduation. We traveled all day that Thursday and Bethanie did a great job! She's a wonderful traveler. :) She slept a lot and when she was awake she was so good...she sat in the back seat in between her Aunt Sheree and Uncle Corey. They had tons of fun. Friday was Mandy's graduation from BYU and once again Bethanie did GREAT! The other babies around us were fussy but Bethanie was perfect. :) I'm so blessed so have such a great baby. After the graduation we went to the Women's Expo and walked around. I bought Bethanie a Giraffe that goes from a stuffed animal to a pillow and even folds out into a blanket. So cool and adorable :) I even got a free 5 minute massage there.
We went to Wingers for dinner before the Expo and Bethanie enjoyed munching on some french fries...hehe. She's so funny. When we got back to the hotel we went swimming. Bethanie LOVED it.
Saturday we went to Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake...it was a lot of fun. Nice exercise going up and down all of the hills there. :) Our favorite animal at the zoo was the baby elephant. He was SO cute! The trainers would spray him with the hose and he'd run the other direction and then come back at them and then turn around and run away again once they would spray him. He ran fast too. SO CUTE!
After the Zoo we went back to the hotel and just relaxed and played with Bethanie. Just can't get enough of that little one. :) Sunday we were back to traveling...we stopped in St George to visit my grandparents...it was their first time to meet Bethanie and it was a good visit. :)
We got back late Sunday night and were so glad to see Bryan. We missed him a lot!

5 Months

Bethanie is 5 months old today so of course I had to get out the camera and do a photo shoot. :) I love my little girl SO MUCH! She's getting so big and learning so many things. I lay her down on the floor on a blanket at one end and the next time I look at her she is all the way on the other side of the room off of the blanket. She is getting so good at rolling around. :) She is getting closer to crawling but hasn't quite got the hands down. She can move herself across the floor but scoots on her face because she just doesn't know what to do with her hands. I always have to make sure she's on a soft blanket or else she would have rug burn all over her cheeks. LOL! She's so much fun and getting more fun by the day. We are so blessed to have her in our lives! :) Enjoy her pictures...I sure do!

Growing So Fast

Took Bethanie to the doctor today for her 4 month check up...even though she is almost 5 months. Anyway...she had to have 5 shots. It was so sad! She cried so hard, but luckily the crying stopped once I got to hold her again. I HATE shots. :(

She is growing so fast. Here are her stats:

14 lbs. 12 oz -- 75th percentile
26 1/2 inches long -- 95th percentile (wonder where she gets that from...lol)

I love my tall baby! :) Glad her appointment is over...she fell asleep on our walk home. yay!

Zoo - 3-27-2010

On Saturday Bryan and I got to go to the Wildlife World Zoo. My parents paid for us to go as a present for Bryan's birthday which was on the 24th. We had a lot of fun and Bethanie got to stay with my parents. After the zoo we had burgers and cheesecake with my family. It was a fun day. Enjoy our pictures :)

There were 4 baby warthogs...so cute...but the bigger of the 4 was a BULLY! He pushed this little guy all the way up against the wall. It was so sad.

This jaguar or whatever it is was sleeping right above our heads...it was crazy! Bryan wanted to poke it with a stick to make it move but I wouldn't let him. Bryan moved the lower fence and the animal moved and scared the heck out of me.

Ear Infection

Well, Bethanie was just diagnosed with her first ear infection...UGH! She's been super cranky lately and everyone said, "Oh she must be teething" Well, today I figured it out...it was an ear infection. I was trying to breastfeed Bethanie on one side and she would not eat, she just screamed and screamed...so I sat her up and she was ok...tried the other side and she was fine. I thought maybe it was just gas...so at her next feeding I tried that side again and the same thing happened, so I called the doctor right away (the just opened a pediatrician office in Maricopa...finally!) and made an appointment...we went in and sure enough she's got an ear infection. :( Makes me sad...I hate not being able to do anything for her. At least we know what it is now. :(

So, Bethanie was just doing tummy time on her play mat and at first she was being stubborn and I didn't think she was going to work on her muscles...but then she lifted herself up so high that I thought for sure she'd crawl away or something. And then all of a sudden she rolled herself over to her back. I am not sure if she knew what she was doing but she did it!! I'm so proud! :) She got so excited that her toys were now hanging in front of her face that she started kicking and smiling. So fun!! I love it!

3 times in a row!!! I put her on her tummy again after the 1st time to see if she'd do it again and she did...so I did it again! 3 times in a row...she's so smart!! :)

3 Months Already?

3 Months!

Bethanie is 3 months old today. I can't believe how time flies. Bethanie is becoming cuter and more and more fun everyday. I really enjoy getting to see all of the changes and fun she's having the past 3 months. Bethanie has been very happy and smiley and I love it.
She loves playing on her play mat with the rattles and things to swing at above her.
She loves laying on my lap and having me play bicycle with her feet.
She loves music and will swing her arms and legs to the music.
She's got the cutest smile with adorable dimples.
She has been doing better at following things with her eyes.
She knows when I walk into the room and she will stop crying as soon as she hears my voice.
She's beautiful and TALL just like her parents.
She's so long that she's already growing out of some of her 6 month clothes.
She loves her baths (until you take her out...then she screams).
She likes having her hair brushed...it calms her down after the after bath screaming.
She likes to watch TV...if I stand in front of the TV with her she will lean her head towards the TV and will just stare.
She's got a cute little giggle and even her cry is cute. :)

We love our little Bethanie! She's so much fun!! I can't imagine life without her.

3 Year Anniversary

3 years ago today Bryan and I were in Snowflake, AZ getting married. It was a cold, snowy day but it was the happiest day of my life. I was nervous to get married but yet so excited. I can still remember looking Bryan in the eyes while kneeling across from each other in the Snowflake Temple and being so happy. These three years have been amazing. We've had our ups and downs for sure but our love just grows stronger and stronger. Bryan took me out to dinner and a movie on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary and we had a great time. He took me to his Elementary School and showed me around and told me all about that school, middle school and high school. It was fun hearing stories and getting to know my husband even better. I love Bryan so much and am the luckiest girl in the world. I've got an amazing little family and can't wait to spend Eternity with them. 3 years down...Eternity to go! :)

Blessing

Bethanie got blessed on Sunday (1-10-2010). She looked beautiful. She did a great job during the blessing and during sacrament meeting...she didn't make a peep. Bryan did an amazing job on the blessing...the spirit was so strong and you could tell that he just loves his daughter so much. I love my little family and am so blessed to have Bryan and Bethanie in my life. :)

2 Month Stats

We took Bethanie to the doctor yesterday for her 2 month check up and she's growing like a weed. :) A beautiful weed of course!!

She is now 11 pounds, 8 ounces which is in the 73%.
She's 23 1/2 inches long which is in the 80%.
And her head is now 38 3/4 cm around which is in the 50%.

She got her 2 month shots which of course I hate...but I think the shots made her tired because she slept REALLY good last night. :)

I can't believe she is already 2 months old...we are having so much fun with her. We love that little girl so much!!
